Kumu Pelena Keeling
President, Executive Director
The Visionary and Kumu Hula of Kaulana Nā Pua. Pelena Keeling has over 45 years as a professional hula dancer and a Kumu Hula for over 11 years. She has volunteered with multiple community foundations and non profits. She was one of 4 individuals that advocated for the very first Hawaiian immersion school here in Kailua-Kona, Hawai’i. Known today as Ke Kula ‘O ‘Ehunuikaimalino in Kealakekua, Hawai’i. She believes that all youth should take care of their Kuleana with Aloha.
Kehaulani Gomes
Vice President/Secretary
10 years of experience participating on the board for several non-profit’s. She believes in making an impact by giving back to the community she was born and raised in. By joining these organizations, and helping them fulfill their mission and vision our families, businesses, and entire community will succeed.
Cindy Naihe
Treasurer
Cindy, continues to serve as a board member in our community for over 30 years as a treasurer and secretary. One of her successful accomplishments is being the treasurer of one of the largest pop Warner football teams in Kailua Kona, Hi for over 30 years. She has been a hula dancer since the age of 5. She believes that sharing “Aloha” is a way of life.
Ku’uipo Tavares
Director
Kumu Hula and an advocate for promoting hula and culture as an avenue to help others succeed in life. She believes in the vision and mission of Kaulana Nå Pua and is an avid supporter. Ku’uipo is blessed to be serving as a KNP Board member.
Director of Marketing
Moeari’i Phillips
A business owner, a Director of Kaulana Nā Pua, 4 Years experience in supporting, volunteering and traveling with KNP through all cultural exchanges and programs. She continues to support KNP & the President through the vision, students, land, hula and more.
Lyle Gomes
Hālau Musician
Born to be a musician with a nahenahe (soothing) voice, Lyle has worked as a musician professionally for over 40 years. He has Volunteered his time and expertise with Kaulana Nā Pua from the start. He has worked with multiple other non-profits in our community for over 30 years.
